Why this exists
Seedance powers an enormous share of the AI videos in circulation, and since July 2026 ModelArk has offered an official API that can verify its artifacts. That API is aimed at enterprise developers — this site wraps it into a free checker anyone can use: journalists verifying a clip, creators proving provenance, moderators triaging uploads.
How it works
Your video is stored temporarily and submitted in parallel to the official Volcengine and BytePlus verification endpoints. We wait for both terminal responses or the server-side timeout, then merge the most complete model and resolution fields. Only two successful False responses produce a negative result; incomplete evidence remains undetermined. API credentials stay server-side.
Independence
Seedance Check is an independent third-party project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by ByteDance, Volcengine or BytePlus. The site is sponsored by Renoise, an AI video platform that is 100% Seedance-powered; sponsorship never influences verification results or statistics.
Honest limits
The official API covers Seedance 2.0+ and Seedream 5.0+ only, verifies artifacts from roughly the last 30 days, and can be defeated by heavy re-encoding. We surface these limits everywhere results appear, because a detector you can trust is one that tells you what it cannot see.
